FBD is, and has been since its foundation, totally committed to Irish farmers. Every year FBD and FBD Trust invest in a range of initiatives designed to help Irish farmers improve the yields and profitability from their farms. The Teagasc Irish Farmers Journal BETTER Farm beef programme is one such initiative. FBD is proud to be associated with this project and has pledged significant financial resources to it for a three year period. As the programme develops, the Irish Farmers Journal will ensure that its entire readership benefits from the insights learned and the transfer of science and knowledge from the research teams to practicing farmers – not just those farmers actually participating in the programme directly but every Irish farmer who wishes to improve the yield from their investment in land, feed and livestock. It is a groundbreaking programme and we would encourage all of our farming clients, and especially those with cattle breeding and fattening operations, to follow progress through the Journal.
We understand farmers. Through our nationwide network of offices and our talented staff we continue to work closely with Ireland’s farming community. Farmers are at the centre of most of what we do. Our sponsorship of this programme is part of the reinvestment in Irish farming which FBD undertakes every year.
We wish Teagasc, Irish Farmers Journal, our co-sponsors in the meat processing plants and of course the participant farmers and followers of the programme every success in delivering the improvements in efficiency which the programme was designed to produce.
