Timber Measurement Course

Thinning your plantation is an essential investment for the future of your crop.

Teagasc will hold a free, full day Timber Measurement Course at Teagasc, Ballyhaise College on Tuesday July 14 starting at 9.30 am.

This course is a must for any person who owns a coniferous plantation at or near the age of first thinning and is a great opportunity to acquire the know-how to get the job done. On the course you will learn how to measure the timber in your plantation and assess the timber volumes to be removed in a first thinning.

Programme

The morning session is indoors and will run from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Lunch can be obtained in the college canteen. The afternoon session will run from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm and is based outside in one of the college’s coniferous plantations.

Registration

Please register before Thursday July 9 by contacting Loreto Ferguson at loreto.ferguson@teagasc.ie or by phone 049 4338300.

For further information, contact Kevin O'Connell, Forestry Development Officer with Teagasc.
