Timber Measurement Course - Roscommon Town

Thinning your plantation is an essential investment for the future of your crop.

Teagasc will hold a free, full day Timber Measurement Course at the Teagasc office, Roscommon Town on Thursday August 13 starting at 9.30 am. This course is now fully booked.

This course is a must for any person who owns a coniferous plantation at or near the age of first thinning and is a great opportunity to acquire the know-how to get the job done. On the course you will learn how to measure the timber in your plantation and assess the timber volumes to be removed in a first thinning. Issues such as felling licences, etc. will also be discussed.

Programme

This full-day course will take place in the Teagasc Office, Roscommon Town beginning at 9.30am. The indoor session will run from 9.30am until 12.30pm. The afternoon session runs from 1.15pm to 4pm and will take place in a local plantation.

You will need to bring raingear, boots and a packed lunch – tea will be provided. Travel directions to the course (enter your starting point at "A" and click return).
