Free Business Innovation Workshops for Rural Entrepreneurs
Those thinking about or in the early stages of opening a rural business are invited to attend one of three free workshops on “Making your Rural Business a Success”. Hosted by Teagasc, LEADER, Farmers Journal and JFC, the events are geared to encourage and give practical advice to budding rural entrepreneurs. Amongst the participants will be John Concannon who started one of Irelands most successful rural businesses, JFC in Tuam and also the mentors from RTE’s Higher Ground, Paul Mc Carthy of Teagasc and Peter Young from the Farmers Journal. LEADER representatives will discuss the supports and grants that are available for new rural enterprises. Pre-registration is essential to avoid disappointment.
The sessions will help people avoid common and costly pitfalls associated with starting a business and will be of special interest to those entering the JFC Innovation Awards for Rural Business, which has a prize fund of €40,000 including a new category solely for people who have not yet started trading. Participants will be provided with advice on how best to prepare a plan and given helpful tips on using their strengths and resources to make their venture a success.
