Building a Sustainable Irish Food System
In line with national and EU policy, Ireland has set out in law its ambition to reduce overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 51% by 2030. The Irish agriculture and land-use sector faces significant challenges to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
In response to this Teagasc has developed a new Climate Action Strategy. Through this strategy Teagasc are proposing to accelerate its research, advisory and education activity in the following areas:
