'Transforming agri-food systems to achieve healthy diets for all'
Dr Frank Rijsberman was appointed CEO of the CGIAR Consortium in May 2012, having previously held the position of Director General at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). Dr Rijsberman has also worked as the Director of the Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene initiative at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as Programme Director at Google.org, Google’s philanthropic sector. Thirty years of experience as a researcher and consultant in natural resources management have helped Dr Rijsberman drive CGIAR’s focus towards improving food security, nutrition and health, reducing rural poverty and protecting the environment. Dr Rijsberman has worked in Africa, Asia and Europe, and has authored over 60 scientific articles and book chapters, including World Water Vision: Making Water Everybody’s Business.
