Catalysing Connections – Supporting the next generation of AgTech and FoodTech innovators

Catalysing Connections is pre-accelerator programme for early career stage researchers run by Teagasc TTO in collaboration with the SFI Vistamilk Research Centre. Multi-disciplinary teams are creating concept commercial ventures based on real challenges and market needs of the Irish Ag-Tech and Food Tech sectors. Through this programme, our team have learned innovating problem solving, business modelling, communication skills, team building and networking. The thematic challenges assigned in 2022 are:

The programme has included a combination of in-person training days and virtual team sessions, with course material provided by Technology Transfer experts, leading enterprise advisors, specialist funders and communication coaches.

One of the best features of our in-person days have been our entrepreneur panels. Where founders have shared their perspectives on the start-up/spin-out journey. These have been honest, open and hugely informative in demystifying the transition from researcher to founder.
