Project Title: Controlling Campylobacter contamination in poultry processing
Overview: I am Food Science and Technology graduate from Spain with a Master’s Degree in Food Quality, Safety and Technology. I have been working in immunochemistry, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology during the previous years. Currently, I am a PhD student focused on the development and optimisation of LED technology (Ultraviolet light) to mitigate the foodborne pathogen Campylobacter in order to reduce the prevalence in chicken meat. Moreover, this project will inquire into the effect of this technology in the meat quality to avoid its damage. When I finish my PhD, I would like to continue my career as researcher or professor.
“A good researcher is someone that understands the needs of people, follows the research integrity principles and is not afraid of learning something new”. This is my philosophy.
