Walsh Scholarships Terms and Conditions

The Teagasc Walsh Scholarships Programme provides scholarships to graduates to undertake postgraduate research in agriculture, food, environmental science, agri-food economics, rural development, horticulture and other related disciplines and carry out their research with established research teams under the supervision of Teagasc and academic staff.

Proposals for scholarships are made by full-time academic staff in third level colleges in collaboration with Teagasc Researcher(s) and the successful awardees select the Walsh Scholars. 

Teagasc now invites proposals from academic staff at third-level colleges for its 2025 Programme. Proposers are invited on any aspect of the Teagasc Research Programme in Food, Animal (including pigs) and Grassland Production, Crops, Environment and Land Use, Rural Economics and Development.

Deadlines and Procedure

All new Walsh Scholarship proposals must be submitted using our online system. In order to access the Teagasc online system, a registration form must be completed.
