Project Title: Participation, collaboration, power: assembling spaces of agri-environmental governance through the Common Agricultural Policy
Overview: I am a geographer from Cork conducting research on participatory approaches to agricultural governance. Specifically, I am interested in policies that seek to employ various forms of non-state participation in policy design and implementation. My research unpacks the power dynamics, relationships, and knowledges in such governance practices.
The Common Agricultural Policy will seek to foster more decentralised, innovative, and collaborative solutions to making European agriculture more environmentally sustainable in the post 2020 period. My research is based on the premise that a better understanding is needed of the multiple processes involved and how these play out in different spaces and places.
Upon finishing my PhD I intend to continue working as a researcher in the area of agricultural policy.
