Project title: Exploring the Value of Social Capital for Innovation within Agri-Food Business Support Networks

Overview: Suzanne is looking at how social capital is built in business support network programmes for agri-food, and will identify resulting impacts it has on multi-actor knowledge exchange for innovation. It will provide new insights into the factors promoting and constraining the development of social capital. This research is important because it will add knowledge on how locational factors may influence innovation activities and will provide a framework to enhance the capabilities of rural agri-food firms. The project aims to make recommendations on processes and mechanisms advisers/brokers can use to enhance social capital development in agri-food business support networks. Suzanne comes from a farming background and has experience in social network analysis, knowledge exchange networks and social marketing.
