Project Title: Generational Renewal and Elder Care: The role and organisation of home care in Ireland's farm households
Overview: Duley’s project focuses on identifying the home care service needs of farm households in relation to elderly care to inform future legislation in establishing a statutory right to home care in Ireland.
This study aims to identify the elder care service needs of farm households, including how informal care is arranged, if and how privatised services develop in rural areas, how care arrangements support generational renewal of farm enterprises and the relevance of gender and citizenship to care services.
Duley has a diverse background in agriculture including food animal production, food science and animal welfare. She is trained as a butcher and when not researching she enjoys cooking and exploring the countryside.
