Carlos Alberto Francisco Cruz

Project Title: Modelling farm level gaseous emissions at higher resolution

Overview: Carlos is a PhD student at University College Dublin. His research interests are related to agricultural sector and its impacts on the environment, especially with regards production systems, inputs, practices, and technologies that allow increasing the productivity of farms while reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. His research methods are based on statistical and micro-econometrics analysis. Other topics of his interest are economy, poverty and inequality in rural areas, as well as public policy evaluation.

 

Carlos has worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a statistics consultant in projects related to public policy assessment in Mexico and Latin America, for more than eight years. Also, he has professional experience as a lecturer at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) teaching courses of statistics and econometrics.

 

He is originally from Mexico, and he enjoys running, reading and listening to music. He would like to work as a researcher at a university after completing his PhD studies.
