Edmund Barry Casey
Project Title: VistaMilk TP 1F-Grassland Agro soil health, Indicators for managing soil health and nutrient efficiency on temperate grassland farms.
Overview: Edmund is a PhD student looking at how Nitrogen can be supplied naturally from the soil under different management, climactic and soil conditions. Using this work, he hopes to be able to help improve nitrogen use efficiency, and help tailor fertiliser plans to a field-level basis. Edmund is also carrying out work on the availability of soil Phosphorus to grass plants across the season, as well as how different P fertilisers are taken in by the soil. Edmund graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Agriculture from University College Cork.
