Project Title: Bovine-adapted Staphylococcus Aureus virulence traits and impact on mastitis
Overview: Naomi is a recent graduate from TUDublin completing her undergraduate degree in Biomedical and Molecular Diagnostics. Naomi is currently in her first year of her PhD with Teagasc and University College Dublin. In her project she will be looking at the virulence traits of Staphylococcus Aureus strains that affect cows and how they impact mastitis. This project aims to delve deeper into how bovine S.aureus strains operate therefore in hopes of creating better prevention methods for mastitis.
