Performance

The weaning performance report  is  designed to identify the most efficient performers in the herd but also and maybe more importantly, the most inefficient cow/calf pairing . The report predicts the 200 day weight of the weanling. The 200 day weight   is an international Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for suckler herds.

Oliver’s  report outlines that 18 cow/calf pairings were weighed and that the bulls are gaining 1.33kgs of liveweight  per day . This is excellent performance giving the bulls a 200 day weight of 311kgs , 11 kgs over the target weight.

The heifers are also performing very well gaining 1.2kgs of liveweight per day and they well above the target weight of 250kgs by 33kgs ie 283kgs at 200 days. Again, this is excellent performance , on average over the herd.

The bulls met all the specifications ie killed at u 16 months , fat cover of at least 2 + . In fact Oliver’ s bulls killed out at 3- , U= with a carcase weight of 389kgs . The average price was €2095.
