Farm Size: 21ha

Farming system: The farm is located in the Inishowen peninsula in Co. Donegal. The herd has been built up to 32 suckler cows which calve from November. A Charolais stock bull is run with the cows with the milkier cows served with AI to breed replacements. All bulls are sold at 10 months and heifers are kept over winter and sold in early summer.

Farm Plan: Grassland management has improved greatly on my farm. The main focus going forward is breeding quality stock and reducing costs on the farm. Reseeding has been completed on the farm and will continue into the future. Increasing profitability of the system will involve a combination of all these factors combined.
