- Shay is farming outside New Ross in Co. Wexford. Shay farms 97 Ha.
- Shay is currently milking an average of 180 cows & has 45 replacement heifers.
- This year he went with the PPI grass Nashota and 1.5kgs white clover seed.

Opening Average Farm Cover: 1278 kg DM/ha
Closing Average Farm Cover: 615 kg DM/ha
Winter Growth Rate: 12 kg DM/ha/day
Opening Pre-Grazing Yield: 2400 kg DM/ha
Closing Pre-Grazing Yield: 1300 kg DM/ha
Opening cover completed on 7th February. Winter growth has been really high at 12 kg DM/ha/day. A grass budget has been completed and the aim will be to maximise grass in the diet by turning cows out full time as soon as possible where weather conditions allow.
