Best practice in Milking

This unique course brings together the theory elements of milking and the practical implementation of the theory through on farm instruction. It aims to develop the milker’s skills to ensure that milking’s are conducted to the highest quality standard

The course was developed in conjunction with Teagasc, FRS and AHI and is certified at QQI level 6.  The tutors for the course are  specifically trained and experts in the area of milking best practice have approved the course content.

  • Cluster Attachment
  • Milk Quality
  • Mastitis Prevention
  • Dry Cow Therapy
  • Washing Up

Assessment – Theory based written assessment and practical milking assessment 4/5 weeks after the course

Certification – QQI level 6 certification on successful completion of course
