Dr. Kevin Hanrahan - National Beef Conference 2021

Dr Kevin Hanrahan is Head of Teagasc’s Rural Economy Development Programme. Kevin studied economics at Trinity College Dublin and has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri, USA. Kevin’s research is mainly focused on the development and use of partial equilibrium models of Irish and EU agriculture and their use in the analysis of the impact of changes in policy. These modelling systems (FAPRI-Ireland & AGMEMOD) have been used to analyse issues arising in in agricultural, environmental and agricultural trade policy. The analysis of the potential impact of carbon budgets on Irish agriculture and the impact of Brexit on Irish agriculture and Trade have been the focus of Kevin’s work. Together with Teagasc colleague Trevor Donnellan, Kevin served on the CCAC Carbon Budget Committee.
