Eithne Browne
Research Officer - Soil and Environmental MicrobiologyResearch Interests
I am a Research Officer in Soil Microbiology at the department of Environment, Soils and Land use in Johnstown Castle. My research focuses on the interface of soil and plant microbiome, how factors such as crop type, environment and outside stressors affect the microbiome composition and function. My research interests lie in plant and soil microbiology, sustainable crop disease management and IPM. My PhD research focused on the characterisation of Phytophthora species causing root rot in UK raspberry production.
I am on the early career editorial board for the European Journal of Soil Biology.
