Brendan Healy

Analytical Technologist

Research Interests

Responsible for the day to day running of soil laboratories at Johnstown Castle where pH, lime requirement, available P,K,Mg (Morgan’s), Mehlich 3 and soil digest analysis are performed on research soil samples. Tasks include sample preparation, extraction/filtering, reagent preparation and instrumentation analysis.

Other roles include developing standard operating procedures for processes in compliance with best laboratory practices, method development on lab. instrumentation and performing instrumentation maintenance. As part of my health & safety duties in Johnstown Castle I am responsible for the management of chemical waste.
