Research Leaders 2025 fellow (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow)

Research Interests

  • Understanding the adaptation mechanisms that enable potato pathogen (Phytophthora infestans) to overcome host resistances in agriculture
  • Identification and cloning of durable disease resistance genes effective against major potato pathogen.
  • Commercialisation of novel potato varieties with durable resistance to late blight disease to reduce pathogen led yield loss
  • Integration of molecular tools in potato breeding

Current Projects

Employing Pathogen Enrichment Sequencing to inform late blight resistance gene deployment in potato.
