Áine Murray

Post-Doctoral Nitrogen Researcher

Research Interests

Develop approaches to quantify plant nitrogen availability in the soil across the year in both perennial ryegrass only and perennial ryegrass-white clover grassland swards. My research area will quantify both the supply of plant available nitrogen in the soil from mineralisation and biological N fixation, and the factors influence its supply identified.

Current Projects

  • Develop approaches to quantify plant nitrogen availability in the soil across the year in both perennial ryegrass only and perennial ryegrass-white clover grassland swards.
  • Farm systems experiment comparing perennial ryegrass only and perennial ryegrass-white clover swards at differing nitrogen fertiliser inputs.

Education

BAgSc in University College Dublin

PhD in Nitrogen Use Efficiency Strategies in temperate grazing dairy systems.
