Miriam, who is working in Teagasc since 2006, developed its first IP policy and procedures, and was instrumental in revising its policy in 2019 to increase focus on nurturing entrepreneurship and spin out activity. She created the pilot START Fund in 2021, aimed at nurturing early stage ideas of potential entrepreneurs, and has has been instrumental in securing invaluable support from Knowledge Transfer Ireland since 2013 for development and expansion of its TTO through Bridge Network TTO consortium.
Miriam focuses on supporting researchers from Teagasc Food programme, to collaborate with industry and commercialise outputs. She is an experienced commercialization case manager, having negotiated multiple commercial licences, and is the lead TTO contact for industry led centres DPTC, FHI, and BIORBIC. She specialises in developing best practices in IP management, to optimise engagements with industry and commercialisation Teagasc IP, and is member of European Commission supported TTO Circle network .
