Each year the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine (DAFM) publish recommend varieties for the industry. These varieties have been tested by the Department in different locations to test strengths and susceptibilites. Generally, varieties have been tested for at least 4-5 years and in up to 6 different locations each year. The main parameters in a recomended list are argonomic and quality.
