Across each of our research teams we typically have multiple placement opportunities through the year for those undergraduate/M.Sc students seeking novel research experiences. Depending on the requirements of the student's institution, placements are for a minimum of 12 weeks but can be up to 6 months if it is ERASMUS-based or associated with an MScplacement.
Those who complete a placement at Oak Park, will learn a diverse range of skillsets. Indeed, dependent on the project they are assigned in any one day students could be completing DNA extractions and PCR analysisat the start and field phenotyping by day's end.
While our placements are predominantly unfunded, our focus is to instill the basics of sound laboratory/field research into our training programme. Hence ensuring that students are exposed to an applied research environment but also enjoy their tenure here while making an invaluable contribution to our work programme.
The below list details the current projects that are available. Unless otherwise indicated, there is no financial support provided for these placements. If you are interested in being considered for one please complete the Work Experience Form at the following link: Work Experience Opportunities
