Forestry and Sustainable Living Section
One of these unexpected gems you definitely don’t want to miss is the Forestry and Sustainable Living section. Organised by Teagasc’s Forestry Development Department, more than twenty organisations and companies will showcase many facets of Ireland’s rapidly developing farm forestry and renewable energy sectors.
As the private forest industry continues to develop, it contributes more and more to our rural economy while providing real solutions to our climate change challenges. The opportunities provided by a farm forest enterprise to enhance family farm income particularly through new afforestation, timber sales and wood energy will be highlighted at the Tullamore Show. There will be a big emphasis on promoting the revised Forestry Programme 2014 – 2020 this year.
If you have questions regarding renewable energy then you must visit the Forestry and Sustainable Living section: solar panels, various boiler systems and efficient firewood stoves will be on display.
