2020 Forestry Knowledge Transfer Scheme

Knowledge Transfer Groups (KTGs) are a great and enjoyable way to share knowledge and best practice. Participants get to know their neighbours better and can learn from each other's experience.

Discussions are facilitated by a professional forester and will incorporate both classroom-style learning as well as forest visits. Most groups will commence late August / early September.

Each KTG participant will receive €70 per meeting attended. The maximum payment to each participant is €490. Each KT Group can have a maximum of 20 participants. Each participant will need to attend 7 meetings or outdoor events in order to complete the programme. Participants who have not taken part in a Forestry KT Group in the previous three years are eligible to take part this year.

If you are a forest owner and you would like to participate in a forestry KT Group near you, contact one of the Organisers listed alphabetically per county from the table below.

Please note: KT Organisers and Facilitators are required to adhere to all public health measures set out in the official guidance. Guidance and measures may change at short notice.

The Forestry Knowledge Transfer Scheme is funded and coordinated by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
