Teagasc has developed a stand for this event to get its message out to a wider audience who are interested in our horticulture activities directly regarding horticulture research, advisory and education. Additionally, Teagasc will exhibit its activities related to plants, trees, forestry, crops, potatoes, biodiversity and bees.

Sustainability is a major theme currently in the horticulture sector.  Our Teagasc stand theme ‘Healthy People, Healthy Planet’ sets out to inspire people and create awareness about Irish fruits and vegetables. Their positive impact on personal health, in terms of consumption, and the positive climate impact in choosing fresh produce.

Our horticulture specific presentations looks at alternatives to peat in the horticulture sector. Modern sustainable packaging solutions for fresh produce and horticultural education through our colleges.

Additionally, we are encouraging visitors to see Irish plant material at our stand, get involved in gardening and spend more time outdoors.

The value of the trees and plants in our built environment is a concurrent theme and is represented through our presentations on biodiversity, forestry and the planting themes around our stand.
