COVID Update

COVID Update: Teagasc Education Delivery Plans Autumn 2021 – Full-time Agricultural College Courses

All of colleges will be reopening for the 2021/2022 academic year in early September.  Our plans for our college Level 5 and 6 full-time programmes are as follows (subject to public health restrictions and individual course timetables):

  • September will see a mix of some classes being held online and some will be onsite in our colleges. All practical skills instruction sessions will be held onsite in the colleges.  We will maintain a physical distancing requirement of 2 metres, with face coverings required.  Hand hygiene and other good COVID avoidance practices will also continue
  • October, should see almost all of the adult population vaccinated against COVID. In line with Government guidelines for further and higher education we plan to deliver to our classes and skills sessions onsite similar to pre COVID.  Blended delivery will be retained where it best meets the needs of each course and supports a good teaching and learning experience.  We will continue to maintain COVID avoidance measures and these will be in-line with government guidelines at a given time.
  • Each college has drawn up a delivery plan for autumn 2021. These plans detail the COVID measures that will be in place.  Learners will be advised of the COVID measures and delivery plans/course timetables at course inductions.  Induction will be held on course commencement.  If you have any specific queries or concerns please contact the college you will be attending for clarification.
  • It is important that you are aware of COVID risks to yourselves, your families and other learner. We strongly advise that you maintain/follow COVID guidance and adhere to any restrictions, not alone in our colleges, but outside of the college environment including travelling to and from college.
  • We also strongly advise that you make arrangements to commence your vaccination programme if you have not already done so.

We really look forward to meeting in the autumn and providing you with a valuable and interesting education journey but also a pleasant one.  You will have the opportunity to meet new friends and gain new experiences.

Our regards,

Teagasc College Network
