 Distance Education "Green Cert" Level 6 (5M20454/6S20487)

Important Note 

Applicants for the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate Farming course must hold at least a Level 6 Major Award (or equivalent) on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture Followed by the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate in Farming (Distance Education) at Teagasc Cork East : Applications Open : Apply Here

This course will start in July 2025. The course duration is 15-18 months with approx. 25 mandatory in-person days during the programme. The course is based at Teagasc Moorepark, Fermoy, with practical skills being delivered and assessed at Clonakilty Agricultural College. 
The course runs on Mondays (9-5pm) at approximately 3 week intervals. Timetable will be provided in advance of course start date.

This course commences 24th January 2025. 


Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture followed by the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate in Farming (Distance Education) at Teagasc Midleton/Fermoy, County Cork : Applications Closed

The Midleton/Fermoy DE course starting in March 2024 is now closed for new applicants. It is planned that applications for the next DE course at this centre will be available in late Autumn 2024, with a course start date in Autumn 2025.  For more information please contact sharon.omahoney@teagasc.ie

The next Distance Education course at Mountbellew will commence on the 12th of April 2025.

The next Distance Education course at Clonakilty College will commence in September 2025. The course duration is 14 months with  face to face contact on a monthly basis, and this will mostly be one Friday attendance per month.
