VistaMilk Transition Year programme

The VistaMilk TY programme aims to promote an understanding and appreciation of the various fields of research in VistaMilk, from Food and Nutritional Science to Technology and Sensors, and to highlight career opportunities in these areas.

This programme is a collaboration of VistaMilk researchers from Teagasc Moorepark, Tyndall (UCC), Walton (SETU) and Insight (UCD), who will showcase the research we carry out to positively impact the environment, animal well-being and the health of consumers. This programme will include hands-on science experiments, informative lessons, tours, and career talks with those in research and industry roles!

  • A tour of Teagasc Food centre and talks from researchers
  • Careers talks from researchers and staff at different stages of their career
  • Tour of Tyndall National Institute
  • Hands on practical experiments in food science, electrochemistry, agricultural science and technology
  • Visit of Moorepark dairy farm and learn about some of the research on-going
  • Group work and presentation skills
