Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Crops and Machinery:
Graduates of the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture can apply for the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Crops and Machinery Management. This is a 1 year full time course offered at Kildalton College starting at the end of August and finishing in May the following year. It consists of 16 weeks course work at Kildalton College and 16 weeks practical learning period with a Teagasc registered host Tillage farm. This course has been developed for students seeking specialised training in machinery operations, fabrication and crop husbandry.This course provides the student with the latest technology, information and management skills necessary for a career in the crop and machinery industry.
Students who successfully complete the level 6 of this course meet the training requirements for Stamp Duty Exemption and DAFM Schemes.

Employment Prospects:
On completion of this course, students may return to manage their own tillage farm. There are also many employment opportunities in the arable farming industry, machinery acontracting and machinery service industry.
Progression:
Holders of the Advanced Certificate in Crops and Machinery Management (Lvl 6) with merit or distinction are eligible to apply for the second year of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at SETU. Applications for advance transfer into this course are made via the CAO system.
