Badi BESBES has 30 years of experience in the management of animal genetic resources. He holds a Master’s degree in Animal Science and a PhD in Animal Genetics. Before joining FAO in 2006, he worked 14 years in the poultry breeding industry. He also has good experience in supporting inter-governmental policy processes, first with the Intergovernmental Technical Working Group on Animal Genetic Resources, under the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, and now with the Committee on Agriculture’s Sub-Committee on Livestock, of which he is the Secretary.
