SQUARE and Farmers

Working with farmers for effective research towards sustainable soil management

The SQUARE project is mainly concerned with understanding threats to soil structure, such as compaction but it is also driven by an even greater focus on the positive benefits and opportunities for sustainable soil management. Together, with farmers, the aim is to develop field level tools to support sustainable soil management.

Get involved

The SQUARE project works with farmers to develop baselines in relation to management practices at a field level. Knowledge sharing between farmers and researchers underpins the SQUARE project. It is through understanding management practices and the drivers for farmer decision making that we can to build on existing management and support change. Along with the field campaign described in the project outline, the participation of other farmers/land users in the SQUARE campaign would be welcomed.
