ACP at Carlow IT Smart Futures Event
Teagasc is partnering with the Smart Futures programme to promote careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in a series of SciFest@College STEM career roadshows at Institutes of Technology (IT) around the country. At Carlow IT, two volunteers from Teagasc spoke to second level students. Irene Malo Estepa, Walsh Fellow PhD student, told students about her background in Veterinary Medicine and how she has got to where she is now. Tom O’Connell, Communications Officer for the ACP, stressed the importance of good water and the challenges for society in communicating the solutions from science.
Smart Futures is coordinated and managed by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), in partnership with many organisations from research, academia and industry, such as Engineers Ireland and Teagasc. For further information, please visit www.smartfutures.ie
