Soil chemistry and P loss to water
Across six sites in Ireland the catchments programme has been collecting a wide range of water quality data. Every ten minutes water samples are taken at each catchment outlet and analysed for a range of parameters including Phosphorous (P). Loss of P to water is influenced by many factors and the role of soil chemistry is highlighted in a study of the Timoleague and Castledockerell sites. The short video is based on a 2016 paper and it can be viewed here on our YouTube channel.
