Food Works: An accelerator programme for Irish food companies

Food Works is an accelerator programme for globally scalable innovative Food and Drink sector starts up to become investor ready.

At the cutting edge of entrepreneurship in Ireland, the programme aims to drive business growth and success in export markets, leveraging the expertise of Teagasc, Bord Bia and Enterprise Ireland.   The programme is designed to feed ambition and drive innovation in the Irish food and drink sector and embraces applicants producing food and drink products destined for retail and food service channels, as well as food technology and food ingredient start-ups.

Since its inception, Food Works has partnered with over 100 entrepreneurs, challenging and developing their investor ready business plan across an intensive 10 month programme.

Teagasc’s role in the Food Works Programme

Teagasc’s unique contribution to Food Works is to support companies from a technical perspective, assisting them in the development of high-quality, sustainable products, processes and packaging solutions. State of the art research and development centres in Ashtown and Moorepark provide companies with access to leading facilities, equipment and expertise.
