Chemical Residue - Testing
The Residue Analysis Laboratory provides testing and advice for the Irish food industry. In particular, testing is provided for residues of veterinary drugs in foods of animal origin.
The Teagasc Residue Analysis Laboratory works as part of a network of laboratories in the National Residue Testing Plan. It provides testing for the following residues in foods of animal origin:-
- Anthelminitics in animal tissues and milk
- Anticoccidials in animal tissues, eggs and milk
- Nitrofurans in muscle, plasma and egg
- Pyrethroids and Pyrethrin in animal fat and honey
- Chlorate and Perchlorate in milk
- Antivirals in muscle
