Teagasc Education Update
All Teagasc colleges and our partner private colleges will have fully reopened by mid-September. Teagasc Head of Education gives an update.
Education delivery in the colleges will be based on a hybrid model. This will involve a combination of face to face sessions in colleges and online classes. Learners will attend their college on certain days and engage with online classes on other days.
Face to face sessions will be focussed towards skills instruction and the practical content of the courses. In as far as possible these sessions will be conducted outside of the classroom. A series of online classes will be scheduled on the days learners are not attending their college.
Education programmes in Teagasc Advisory Regions are also continuing in a broadly similar manner to the model outlined above.
Learner and staff safety is paramount. A COVID-19 Guidance Template for Teagasc Education Delivery has been developed drawing on national roadmaps for education reopening and Teagasc protocols. Physical distancing of 2m and wearing of face coverings are vital elements of the Teagasc Education COVID measures
