Organic Dairy Farming - The Little Milk Company

The Little Milk Company is made up of a group of 10 family run organic farms which was established in 2008. It started out as a plan to get a better return for their milk by producing a range of organic artisan products. Their story is profiled by member John Liston.

The Little Milk Company evolved from a Teagasc Organic Dairy Discussion Group in 2008. Originally the group met and discussed management issues and visited each other farms and slowly came to group purchases of raw materials. Their cheeses are now available at over 300 stockists around Ireland and abroad.

All of the farms are family owned and run using organic farming methods. The herds include a mix of Jersey and Montbeliarde cows, which are renowned for producing high quality milk.
