Virtual Farm Tour with Tadhg Hurley

On Wednesday, 14th July, Teagasc in association with Carbery Group held a virtual farm tour with Tadhg Hurley, 2020 Carbery Milk Quality Awards overall winner. The Hurley's are members of Barryroe Co-op.

Tadhg is farming alongside his father Finbarr in Barleyfield, Kilbrittain, Co. Cork on land that his grandfather, Daniel, bought in 1936. Tadhg’s family also includes his wife Helena, and their sons TJ and Charlie. 

65% of the herd on the Hurley dairy farm have never received an antibiotic in their lifetime and 80% of the herd are on Selective Dry Cow Therapy.

The virtual tour was hosted by Mark O'Sullivan, Teagasc and featured inputs from representatives in Teagasc and Barryroe Co-op, and local farmers.
