50% of TAMS 3 Tranche 1 applications now approved

Some 4,119 applications to tranche 1 of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation (TAMS 3) have been approved, figures from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) have shown.

Presented up to February 12th, a total of 8,203 applications had been received by DAFM across the 10 sub-schemes contained within tranche 1 of TAMS 3. Of these, 373 were rejected and 175 were withdrawn, while a further 3,536 applications are in progress. With 4,119 applications approved, this means that over 50% of applications have now been approved.

The highest number of approvals to date have been under the Farm Safety Capital Investment Scheme, totalling 1,203. A further 654 applications are in progress under this sub-scheme.

Additionally, approvals under the Organic Capital Investment Scheme and the Low Emissions Slurry Spreading Scheme totalled 542 and 496, respectively. Meanwhile approvals up to February 12th for the Animal Welfare Nutrient Storage Scheme and the Tillage Capital Investment Scheme were 856 and 315, respectively.

Tranche 2 of TAMS 3 closed for applications on January 19th. Tranche 3 is now open and applications will be accepted up to Friday, April 12th, 2024.
