James Daunt, Clonakilty Agricultural College Lecturer caught up with Brian McCarthy, Clonakilty Research Officer to get a review of the clover trial at the College which took place from 2019 to 2021. The experiment looked at sward types and nitrogen fertiliser rates.

Hedge Cutting Season now Closed
The hedge cutting season is over. Today, Tuesday, 1 March is the first day of the bird nesting season, hedges must not be cut. Catherine Keena, Countryside Management Specialist points out that the absence of hedge cutting from March to September allows birds to nest safely and without disturbance.
