Second grass cover required to monitor grazing progress

  • Target 30% to graze during February and be flexible;
  • Target medium grass covers 700-1200kg DM/Ha;
  • Target reseeded paddocks with ability to recover fast for the second rotation.

 Use the grazing calculator on PastureBase Ireland

  • Open app, select 'cover data' and 'grazing calculator' to help you to allocate grass.

 Have you N and slurry applied?

 Apply lime now

  • Take advantage of excellent ground conditions to apply lime to paddocks with a requirement;
  • One lorry load of lime – 10 acres to spread (2T per acre).

Grass 10 Featured Farmer

Tim Feeney, who operates a spring-calving dairy system in Athenry, Co. Galway, is this week's Grass 10 Featured Farmer.
