Event: Plant protection products for ornamental and nursery stock plants - new controls and increasing impact of biopesticides

Teagasc will host a seminar highlighting the increasing importance of biopesticides and the changing landscape for plant protection products in the EU.
The seminar will review the growing importance of bio-pesticide use in ornamental horticulture in Ireland. A new Syngenta product Taegro will be launched at the event.

Speakers from Teagasc, Syngenta and Fargro will discuss the current range of plant protection products, increasing the efficacy of spraying, potential impacts of the Sustainable Use Regulations and investigations in vine weevil behaviour and control.
There will be a tour of the Teagasc glasshouse facilities with Dónall Flanagan, Teagasc, who will also speak about 'Looking forward to SUR'. Stephen Massam, Fargro, will speak about 'The status and place of biopesticides in Ireland crop protection' and tell us about the Key diseases controlled by Taegro. Michael Gaffney, Teagasc, will present on 'Vine weevil developments in behaviour and control', and Sean Loakes, Syngenta, will talk about the Art of application (spraying).
