Teagasc at Bloom 2025
‘Horticulture is Life’ is the theme of the joint Teagasc, Bord Bia and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine stand at Bloom in the Food Village.
The interactive feature shows how the organisations work together to support the Irish Horticulture Industry and growers, to deliver top quality local sustainable produce and plants.
Dr Michael Gaffney, Head of the Teagasc Horticulture Development Department said; “We look forward to meeting you at the stand at Bloom over the next five days. We are highlighting the role the Irish horticulture sector plays in securing our national food supply in a sustainable and innovative way into the future. We have a particular focus on integrated pest management, using natural methods to control pests.”
If you are interested in a career in horticulture, then explore the education course options with staff from the Teagasc education programme. John Mulhern, Principal of the Teagasc college of amenity horticulture explains; “There are options for lifelong learning and apprenticeships in horticulture. We have an extensive range of courses delivered at the Teagasc College at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin, Teagasc Ashtown in Dublin and at Kildalton Horticultural College in Kilkenny.”
The plantings on display at the stand showcase the training that is available at our colleges and visitors can speak first hand with our expert staff who have built these displays.
