The 25-hour QQI Level 5 ‘Organic Farming Principles’ course is an essential prerequisite for farmers seeking acceptance into the Organic Farming Scheme. This comprehensive training program equips participants with a robust understanding of organic farming standards, principles of organic production, and skills to evaluate economic viability and market opportunities in the organic farming sector.

Upon completion, participants will be proficient in:

  • Interpreting Organic Standards: Understanding the regulations and guidelines governing organic farming practices.
  • Principles of Organic Production: Gaining insights into sustainable farming methods that comply with organic standards.
  • Assessing Economic Viability and Market Opportunities: Learning how to evaluate the financial aspects of organic farming and identifying potential markets.
