Platform to share EU agriculture and forestry knowledge goes online

The EU-FarmBook is a Horizon Europe funded project that is working at regional, national, and European level to build an online platform to gather and share agriculture and forestry knowledge.

Running from 2022 to 2029, 29 partners from 18 countries are contributing to the project which aims, through the use of an online platform, to become an interactive meeting place for agriculture and forestry communities.

Project coordinators, stakeholders and agricultural journalists will get an exclusive first look at EU-FarmBook at the pre-launch event on 8 February at 10.30am (CET), which will be broadcast live from the European Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisory Services (EUFRAS) studio in Latvia. This broadcast event will be hosted live on the EU-FarmBook website and its YouTube channel.

EU-FarmBook brings together the outcomes of EU-funded research and innovation projects. These materials will help farmers, foresters and advisors meet their practical needs and future challenges. The platform will support the transition to a sustainable agriculture by making innovative solutions available for farmers, foresters and other rural actors. All members of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) rural networks like policy makers, researchers, advisors, educators and students will also benefit from these contents.

“We have been working towards this moment and are now looking forward to many contributions. The pre-launch event will give a first insight into the new platform and our technical team will demonstrate the upload process, its current features, and future improvements,” said Pieter Spanoghe, EU-FarmBook coordinator and Professor for Crop Protection Chemistry at Ghent University.

Additionally, the project management will explain the importance and benefits of EU-FarmBook together with Natalia Brzezina, Policy Officer of the European Commission (DG AGRI). Following the pre-launch, EU-FarmBook ambassadors will support the project coordinators in their Member State with their contributions to the platform.
